ABOUT ME
Hi, my name is Ariel, and I’m a software development unit manager at Philips. I love software development and have a passion for sophisticated technology development. I have been working in the high tech industry for almost 20 years and have an extensive understanding of large software systems. In my early years, my focus was on web development and windows applications. Recently, I am looking more into machine learning topics. I enjoy learning new stuff every day. The truth is that Software is around me ever since I know myself. I always liked computers from elementary school through high school, army service, and beyond. I always knew what I want to be when I grow up.
I hold both BSc and MSc in computer science. I'm very proud to be a software group manager at Philips. Leading a world-class R&D team brings a feeling of fulfillment. Being a people manager allows me to gain a meaningful impact while directing to continuous improvement. The scope of responsibility is huge. Beyond being in charge of Software projects and releases, my main goals are to build, grow, and maintain a smart team of experts capable of accomplishing our mission. Nurturing the culture and the daily atmosphere is part of my everyday efforts. Values like Trust, Openness, and team spirit are at the top of my list. During the past eight years, I'm in software leadership positions at Philips, which makes me very grateful.
In my personal life, I'm married with three children and a dog. I live with my beautiful family in Israel. I love listening to music (especially Jazz), singing and playing the piano. I play the guitar for more than 25 years, classic, acoustic and electric, and have a little recording studio. I play chess, and like computer games, especially the graphics, art, and technology aspects. I occasionally cook. You may follow me on Instagram to see updates on my masterpieces.
I am excited about architecture, interior design, art, and photography. Also, interested in medicine, health, astronomy, history, and science. My favorite sports fields are running and swimming. However, I rarely watch sport on TV (I must give up on something, right?).
Each topic is a whole world, and I can't say I'm an expert on everything, but enjoy it whenever I can.
